I have been collecting shot glasses since I was 14 years old. The first shot glass I bought was at the Little America near Green River, Wyoming. Last time I counted I had 70 shot glasses. I have saved letters, Christmas cards, and birthday cards. I saved my issues of the Bicentennial Times and issues of Time magazine that cover major events like the attacks of September 11. I have saved theater tickets and programs. I see in the Daily Telegraph that Andy Warhol was a big time pack rat. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/main.jhtml?xml=/arts/2007/07/30/bawarhol130.xml&CMP=ILC-mostviewedbox
He collected objects in brown boxes. He called them his "Time Capsules" and he saw them as a conceptual work of art. The contents belong to the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh and two of the capsules are traveling to Edinburgh, Scotland as part of a Warhol exhibit. So if someone is critcized for being a pack rat, he should just say that it is his "time capsule" and a "conceptual work of art"!
